Greetings to all the participants of the First International Conference on Anesthesia and Pain Management!

There is so much to learn in the field of anesthesia that will impact tremendously on patient safety and quality of care. It is therefore timely that St. Luke’s Medical Center through the members and staff of the Department of Anesthesiology and the Pain Management Center, have organized this conference. The specialists, not only at St. Luke’s, but also in the Philippines and the Southeast Asian region will definitely benefit from this conference.

I congratulate Dr. Jonnel Lim and Dr. Francis Javier who have harnessed their respective staff to organize a world-class faculty and a program. I also commend Dr. Joy E. Luat-Inciong, the Overall Chairman, who took up this tremendous challenge of organizing an international conference such as this.

To all the members of the faculty, thank you for traveling from afar, taking time to share your expertise to our shores. Your contribution to the furtherance of the education of your colleagues in this part of the world is immeasurable!
